On February 18th, both companies announced the signing of an agreement to execute the absorption-type split for Hitachi to transfer it’s diagnostic image-related business to Fujifilm, with a “tentative” effective date of March 31st 2021.
Prior Update: October 2020
On December 18th 2019, Hitachi announced the transfer of it’s diagnostic image-related business to Fujifilm in an absorption-type split. The closure date of the share transfer was initially scheduled for the 1st July 2020, however, due to the disruptions caused by the Coronavirus pandemic this transfer was postponed with a new execution date to be determined.
Within Hitachi’s mid-term management plan, the company states that it seeks to complete this transfer within its fiscal year 2020, ending 31st March 2021. Within its financial statements released this morning, the business is projecting income from the sale of its diagnostic-related business during the coming 6-months. A public announcement on the completion date is yet to be made.
